Style, Passion and Love for Life

~ Words by Vickie Sam Paget, Sky Blue Content ~

Tapping into the very best of traditional Italian style, Alitalia looks to the future and unveils sophisticated new branding, livery and products

Style, passion and love for life: they’re all elements that have become the inspiration for Alitalia’s brand redesign.
The key to the revamp is in the belief that Italy has a unique place in the hearts of the world, and the goal is to recreate an on-board experience that reflects the very best in Italian style, hospitality, passion and creativity.
Luxurious Livery
Through a careful and thoughtful design approach, the airline has updated its aircraft livery, preserving its most recognizable elements while revealing a more stylish, sophisticated and luxurious look.
The tail has maintained the traditional ‘A’, the airline’s iconic mark that’s recognized all over the world, but the design is now bolder and more detailed.
An elegant soft white fuselage adds style and sophistication and the allusion of speed is created by a refined series of white lines leading towards the stabilizer.
Contemporary Cabins
The carrier’s new style of in-flight experience places considerable emphasis on greater customer choice, innovation, quality, and above all, more personal control, so the traveller can choose how they relax, dine and are entertained on board.
New cabin interior renovations across the airline’s entire long haul fleet is scheduled to be completed by 2016.  On board, travellers are welcomed in completely renovated cabins, featuring leading luxury Italian brands and upgraded services to elevate the travel experience. The airline is also introducing Wi-Fi connectivity on its long haul aircraft, providing travellers with access to the internet.
Business Class
In the Business Class cabin on intercontinental routes, upgraded services include new Poltrona Frau leather seats that convert into flat beds and plenty of leading Italian brands, such as Frette bedding, Ferragamo amenity kits and Richard Ginori tableware.
To further enhance the on board experience, a ‘Dine-Anytime’ option is giving travellers the choice to dine at their preferred time, and a bedtime turndown service is adding a little extra luxury.
Alitalia flights operating out of Toronto to Rome will offer these upgraded services upon completion of the renovations.
Premium Economy & Economy Class
Service in our Premium Economy and Economy Class cabins are also being upgraded with stylish new interior design touches and new amenities to provide a refreshing traveller experience.
In Premium Economy travellers can enjoy dedicated check-in and priority boarding, increased baggage allowance, increased cabin crew presence, a welcome glass of Prosecco, Frette amenity kits and a plush blanket and cotton pillow.
Meal service in Premium Economy now includes the airline’s signature ‘Digestif’ service, which is offered after the main meal: a limoncello, amaro, grappa or—the Italian favourite—espresso. And the new ‘Spuntino’ menu features a range of snacks, including Italian treats like pizza and gelato.
Meal service in Economy celebrates Italy’s proud culinary heritage, offering a ‘mid-flight spuntino’ (snack) service, Lavazza coffee and cappuccino and warm Italian baked goods. Additional service upgrades include greater IFE content, in-flight connectivity (for a charge) and a warm fleece blanket from luxury Italian brand Frette.
