Get your groove ready: The St Lucia Jazz Festival is set to bring the island to life from May 12 to 14.
Part of the island’s fantastic line-up of things to do during the summer festivals, this year’s Jazz Festival is returning to the original vision as a celebration of St Lucian, Caribbean and international jazz music.
Afro-Cuban jazz, Caribbean jazz, contemporary jazz and St Lucia jazz sub-genres will also be in full effect.
There are a host of musical events taking place all over the country, with the fun kicking off at the National Cultural Centre on May 12 with performances by Malika Tirolien, Danilo Pérez’s Panamonk Revisited: 20th Anniversary with Ben Street, and Terri Lyne Carrington.
The action then continues later that evening at Pigeon Island National Landmark with shows by Michael Robinson and David Rudder with special guest Andy Narell.
On May 13 Pigeon Island will be grooving to the beats of Bluemangó featuring Jean Caze and Malika Tirolien, Kenny Garrett, and Richard Bona & Mandekan Cubano.
And on May 14 Pigeon Island will be burning with jazz bliss as the Rupert Lay Quartet, the Victor Provost Quartet, Rachelle Ferrell, Vanessa Williams and Malavoi take to the stage.
