The Cosmopolitan, Las Vegas

Specifically Designed to Blow Your Client’s Mind

Stylish suites, Lady Gaga and falling snow in the desert… It’s shaping up to be a fabulous winter season at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

~ Words by Vickie Sam Paget, Sky Blue Content ~

Competition between resorts in Las Vegas can certainly be fierce, but fear not, it’s easy to point your client in the right direction to The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
This uber-luxurious resort located at the very heart of The Strip has been designed specifically to blow your client’s mind.
Big is beautiful at this 2,995-room resort, which is clear by the oversized room options available. Take the property’s Bungalow Suites, for example. Overlooking the pool deck of the Marquee Dayclub, these consummate party suites are perfect for large groups. All bungalow suites feature custom-designed furniture, faceted antique mirror panels, walnut overstuffed furnishings and third floor terraces with plunge pools and outdoor kitchens and bars. There are also pool cabanas next to each bungalow, which are available for rent with the suite.
Alternatively, the Lanai Suites are located at the edge of the Bamboo Pool deck, overlooking a lush high-canyon landscape and the cityscape beyond. Rich, dark wood with platinum and deep red and aged port-like accents set the tone and ambiance, while two-story windows span the full width of the suite, providing exceptional views.
But the absolute pinnacle of exclusivity can be found at the West End Penthouses on the 60th and 61st floors. Each suite boasts a world of whimsical touches, like crystal-encrusted wall textures, an art collection and rich, tailor-made fabrics. Classified as ‘Light’ and ‘Dark’ in decoration, every single detail of these suites has been elegantly designed.
Illuminated with brilliant ivory and white designs, the ‘Light’ penthouses are the epitome of luxury in shades of cream and white to create a feeling of splendid ultra-modern style. Inspired by the rich shades of mahogany, chestnut and espresso, the ‘Dark’ penthouses evoke classical grandeur through time-honoured design infused with contemporary touches. Available with two or three bedrooms, the suites feature the most advanced technology, floor-to-ceiling windows and a separate wet bar and kitchenette with serving space. Personal butler service also attends to your client’s every whim.
This high level of quality and style extends to the resort’s ‘Pool District’ too, where clients can choose from three distinct pool experiences. Able to accommodate up to 3,000 people, the Boulevard Pool overlooks the heart of The Strip and has a stage as its focal point. The Bamboo Pool, which can accommodate up to 1,000 people, provides a more private, canyon-like feel. Different zones offer varying degrees of seclusion, including a park-like environment with covered walkways and grassy banks. And the Marquee Dayclub Pool, which can welcome up to 1,000 people, provides a lounge-like environment by day and an extension of the nightclub by night.
But it’s not all about sunshine and poolside cocktails at The Cosmopolitan. In fact, on November 21, the resort’s famous ice rink is returning to the Boulevard Pool—along with some snow showers. This may well be the desert, but the Boulevard Pool is being transformed into a winter wonderland, featuring falling snow, ice skating, fire pits and an impressive selection of winter cocktails and seasonal food highlights. Clients can experience snow showers throughout the evening while skating, roasting s’mores by the fire and taking in the sights and sounds of Las Vegas Boulevard. A light snowfall will occur every 30 minutes on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings throughout December. The ice rink will be open until January 4, from 3pm to midnight Monday to Friday, and from noon until midnight on Saturdays and Sundays.
The dining options at The Cosmopolitan are, of course, endless. From the unique blend of comfort food and sushi at the Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar and the Chinese-Mexican flavours on offer at China Poblano, to the deliciously chic menu at Comme Ça and the caviar tastings at the mysterious ‘Rose.Rabbit. Lie.’, rest assured that your clients will not go hungry.
They will never have to go far for some world class entertainment, either. The Chelsea, The Cosmopolitan’s entertainment venue and home to the ‘mophie’ stage, is located on the third floor of the resort. Just below, on the second floor, lies ‘Rose. Rabbit. Lie.’, a grand social experiment that blurs the lines between theatre, club, restaurant and bar to offer an unpredictable evening for those who seek the unexpected. The excitement often spills onto the casino floor from Book & Stage, an upscale sports and entertainment lounge, while live DJs fill the vibrant hotspot-turned-gaming-pit, BOND, with the best in house-music. Clients can then weave their way through the curious Queue Bar and grab drinks before heading into Marquee Nightclub to party the night away.
Across the casino lies the Vesper Bar. Exuding classic charm in a contemporary setting, this sophisticated spot features a rotating menu of signature cocktails based on long-forgotten recipes. Out on the pool deck, the Boulevard Pool transforms into an intimate outdoor concert venue at night with unobstructed views of The Strip. The Neapolitan reinvents the average Las Vegas bar scene by incorporating ice cream and innovative gastronomy techniques, and finally, The Chandelier is a dramatic inhabitable three-story chandelier, featuring the most progressive DJs.
However, the most exciting night of the whole year at The Cosmopolitan has to be New Year’s Eve. Every year the resort surpasses the last, and this year is set to be no different.
This New Year’s Eve, two legendary musicians, Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga, are coming together for their first performance in Las Vegas at The Chelsea. This extraordinary evening will highlight the music from their number one album, Cheek to Cheek. After the show, The Chelsea and continue into the New Year, with Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga counting down and commemorating the midnight hour.
Can you imagine a more stylish way to kick off 2015? We can’t.
